About this project

This, once dilapidated, town-house in The Hague has been completely renovated with great attention to the original ornamentation and detail but with a modern touch. Part of the complete modern style renovation we have extended the house at the back and combined all the rooms on the ground floor to create a beautiful space for a living-room, a dining-room and an open kitchen. Additionally, the back wall has been replaced with a full height, slim, aluminium framed glass facade from Tudor to bring plenty of natural light into the house. Another part of the complete modern style renovation project was a new layout and interior design for the upper floor, where new bedrooms and a bathroom have been arranged. In the entire house, we looked for contrast between newly added, modern elements and the existing ornamentation to achieve a subtle combination of modern and classic elements. For the paint we worked with the paint from Little Greene. The new modern gas fire place is custom made by Warmtestore.nl

The house is fitted with high-end insulation for the floor, walls and roof. The windows have been fitted with double glazing to keep the warmth inside.

The bathroom of the project is posted on the website of Sphinx
